Maximilien Robespierre was known for his ruthlessness in tacking the nobles and the clergies and for creating the reign of terror. Robespierre followed a very severe policy of control and punishment in France. he executed all those who were nobles and in that lineage and also within his own party members whoever opposed him. This reign of terror created huge bloodshed in french history. his ruthlessness went to the point when his own party members were tired of his extreme revolution tendency. Robespierre severely practiced the equality that he forced the people of France to eat plain bread only. The churches were all closed down. in the place of church barracks and offices were formed. Robespierre was later convicted by the court in July 1794. He was arrested and on the next day he was sent to the guillotine and killed, in the same manner, he punished people. Final answer Maximilian Robespierre was guillotined for his methodology of severe punishment to the people in France through the very same guillotined he was killed too.
