The Menshevik party was renamed as the Russian Communist Party.
Explanation False. After the 1917 revolutions, two major parties dominated the Russian political sphere- Mensheviks and Bolsheviks. Mensheviks were the minority party as its name suggests and were more inclined towards the progression. Bolsheviks were more known for their radical nature and as the name suggests majority, they were not truly major in number but had ruled Russia for a longer period of time till the disintegration of the USSR. After seizing Petrograd in the year 1917, they started calling themselves communist. The Bolsheviks renamed themselves the Russian communist party in March 1918. Mensheviks on the other hand was dissolved in 1921. The statement that the Menshevik party was renamed the Russian communist party is false.
