Option (a) is correct Shifting cultivation is a type of cultivation in which parts of forests are cut and at the same time burnt in rotation. In this type of cultivation, lands are cultivated temporarily. The land is cultivated till the time it starts showing signs of exhaustion. The land is generally cleared by the slash and burn method.
