Explanation Diplontic life cycle is manifested by many plant groups such as gymnosperm and angiosperm. The dominant phase in the diplontic life cycle is the sporophyte.The gametophyte in such life cycle is represented by a few haploid cells and is completely dependent on the sporophyte.
