The mode of transmission of Ascariasis are:- The parasites causing Ascariasis are transmitted from an infected to a healthy individual by the consumption of food contaminated with the infective stage of the parasite ( Ascaris lumbricoides) because the faecal matter of infected individual contain the eggs of Ascaris. The disease may also spread by touching the contaminated soil and then inserting the fingers into the mouth without washing the hand properly. Improperly cooked fruits and vegetables may contain the Ascaris parasites and therefore, the vegetables should be properly cooked and the fruits should be washed very carefully before they are being consumed.
