Some of the public health measures against infectious diseases are: Control of vector: Some of the dreading vector-based diseases include malaria, dengue fever, chikungunya and so on. The mosquitoes are one of the major harmful insects that commonly infect a person. The breeding ground of the mosquitoes are stagnant water. The main solutions to control vectors are insecticides and clean environment. Proper disposal of waste water: Rainwater is need to be collected through rain water harvesting. The used water from kitchens and toilets is need to be disposed to the sceptic tanks. The improper disposal of water becomes breeding ground of mosquitoes and harmful microorganisms, causing bad smells and reducing aesthetic nature of a place.Decontamination of drinking water: One should not drink the tap water directly. The water should be boiled or need to be purified with chlorine to free the water from harm causing microbes.Education: The diseases such as AIDS and allergies are majorly spread due to contact with the infected person. The government and non-profit organisations need to educate the people about the causes, symptoms, vaccinations and methods to prevent the diseases. The education method includes drama, flyers and flexes in the hospitals.Isolation: When a person is affected by communicable diseases, the person needs to stay in isolation. The isolation period depends on the diseases. The people who are in contact with the infected person are need to be quarantined as a cautious step.Vaccination: A person is need to be properly vaccinated from birth to increase the immunity power in a person. When a person is improperly vaccinated, the person is easily exposed to the diseases such as tuberculosis, typhoid, dengue fever, jaundice and chickenpox.Sanitation: Hospital or hotel or house is need to be sanitised properly. The sanitation includes cleaning floors, walls, toilets, faucet and door and window handles. The clean personnel should use gloves and shoes to prevent from being exposed to harmful microbes.
