Write a short note on (c) Behavioural adaptations in animals
Behavioural adaptations in animals Several organisms are affected by several ecological conditions. To resolve these environmental circumstances, organisms experience adaptations like hibernation, migration, aestivation, etc. The adaptations in the behaviour of an organism are known as behavioural adaptations. For instance, ectothermic animals and specific endotherms display behavioural adaptations. Ectotherms are cold-blooded animals like amphibians, fish, reptiles, etc. Their temperature differs from their surroundings. For instance, the desert lizard basks in the sun throughout the early hours once the temperature is quite low. However, as the temperature starts to rise, the lizard burrows itself within the sand to avoid the scorching sun. The same burrowing approaches are revealed by other desert animals.
