As we are aware that matter exists in 3 states that is solid, liquid, gases. The inter particle distance is defined as the distances between the particles of a matter. If the particles are close to each other then they have greater forces of attraction. Thus in that state of the matter which ha the last distance between the particles have the greatest force of attraction. In this case solids have the shortest distance between the particles and the gases have the largest distance. Thus the forces of attraction in between the particle of matter are: solid> liquid> gas. Sugar crystals are found in our home is a solid particle. Water that we drink is liquid and O2 as we all know are gases present in the air which we breath in.
