Room temperature is defined as the temperature that is neither hot nor too cold i.e. temperature where one can stay comfortably. Water is liquid at room temperature due to following reasons: Water boils at 100 degree Celsius whereas it solidifies at 0 degree Celsius. And at room temperature water is in liquid state. This means that it does not have any definite shape but it has a definite volume as it takes the shape of an object in which it is placed.
