It is defined as the sum of protons and neutrons.It is represented by letter “A”.It is almost equal to the atomic mass of an atom.Therefore , it is written as Mass= no protons + no of neutrons.For example: nitrogen has 7 protons and 7 neutrons which is equal to 14. Thus mass of nitrogen is 14. Final Answer It is the sum of protons and neutrons represented by letter “A”. Example: nitrogen.
