The cardiac muscles are the muscles of the heart. These muscles are single nucleated, striated and branched. These muscle tissues help in the pumping of blood throughout the whole body. The pumping of blood throughout the whole body is an involuntary movement. There are certain specialized cells known as pacemaker cells that control the heart contractions. The signals from the nervous system are sent to the pacemaker cells that control the heart rate.The contraction and relaxation of the heart is controlled by the cardiac muscles.
