Simple squamous epithelium - a flat lining for the ease of transportation. Example: the lining of alveoli, and mouth. Stratified squamous epithelium - cells are arranged in multiple layers for protection. Example: skin. Cuboidal epithelium - Cube shaped cells that provide mechanical support. Example: the lining of the kidney tubules. Columnar epithelium - has pillar like cells that facilitate movement across the epithelial barrier. It is present at the place where absorption and secretions takes place. Example: intestine. Final answer Squamous epithelium
