What are the major divisions in the Plantae? What is the basis, for these divisions?
Plantae is majorly divided into 5 types. First type is the Thallophyta or also known as algae, the basis of the classification is Thallus like body, and they have simple body design. The second type is the Bryophyta, in which vascular system is absent and their body is well differentiated into stem and leaves. The third type is Pteridophyta; its body is well differentiated into 3 parts stem, root and leaf. The fourth type is Gymnosperm which contains naked seeds and they bear seeds. The fifth type is Angiosperm, they are also seed bearing but their seeds are covered not naked. Final answer Plantae is the one of the classification of living organisms, which is basically multicelluar, eukaryotes and also contains the rigid structure. They are mainly divided into five types with basic classification technique. They are well differentiated on the basis of certain characteristics like whether they can bear seeds or not, their basic body structure and differentiation, their seeds are well enclosed inside fruit or not and the vascular system is present or not.
