Women were considered as an important resource in the agrarian society due to the following reasons – • Agrarian society was labour oriented and women with their childbearing abilities could supply the future generation of labourers. • Many aspects of production like the spinning of yarn, sifting and kneading of clay for pottery, embroidery etc all of which were artisanal and important aspects of agrarian life were dependent on women labourers.
