The similarities between the Civil Disobedience Movement and Non-Cooperation movement were as follows: In both the movements, the peasants had participated whole-heartedly. Most of the peasants hated the colonial forest laws as they and their cattle could not enter the forest. At many places, the factory workers went on strike. The lawyers boycotted the British courts. The students did not attend their classes in the government-run educational institutions. All the ordinary people participated in both of these movements in one way or the other. They in their own way expressed their discontent with the British rule. Many people even left their government jobs and joined the freedom struggle.
