What is UPTET?

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level exam held once a year to determine candidates' eligibility to teach in Uttar Pradesh's primary (Classes 1-5) and upper primary (Classes 6-8) schools. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board is in charge of the examination (UPBEB). The UPTET exam is held in two shifts and consists of two papers: I and II. The UPTET Paper-I is for candidates who choose to teach in grades 1 through 5. UPTET Paper-II, on the other hand, is for candidates who choose to teach in grades 6 through 8. Candidates who choose to teach students in grades 1 through 8 must take both exams. Both UPTET papers are administered in offline mode as pen-and-paper tests on the same day.

UPTET Notification 2021

On May 11, 2021, the UPTET 2021 notification will be issued. The notification will include important exam information such as the application process, eligibility requirements, important dates, exam pattern, and syllabus. Candidates who pass the UPTET exam are qualified for employment as primary or upper-primary (also known as middle school) teachers in Uttar Pradesh schools. Following the announcement of the results, qualified applicants receive their UPTET eligibility certificates promptly. For five years, the UPTET eligibility certificate is valid.

UPTET Eligibility 2021

Candidates must meet the following basic requirements to be qualified for UPTET 2021:
  • Candidates must have earned a bachelor's degree in some field.
  • Candidates should be between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Candidates must be Indian, Nepalese, Bhutanese, or Tibetan people.

2021 UPTET Selection Process

The phases of the UPTET selection process are as follows:

Written exam

The UPTET exam is divided into two sections. Aspirants who want to teach grades I through V should take Paper I. Candidates who want to teach classes VI-VIII must take Paper-II. Candidates who choose to teach grades I through VIII must take both exams.

UPTET result

The exam conducting authority posts the UPTET result on the exam's official website. Candidates who receive at least 60% in the written exam are considered UPTET eligible.

Certificate of eligibility

For the UPTET exam authority issues an eligibility certificate to candidates who pass the written examination. Candidates who possess the credential are qualified to apply for teaching positions in Uttar Pradesh schools. The UPTET eligibility certificate is valid for five years.
