The story of ‘The Tiger King’ is a satire on the arrogance and doggedness of ruling people.The tale make us remember the days of autocratic and eccentric kings. These kings lived under the oppressive rule of the British; hence they fear them. Mostly, the rulers do not care for the interest of the people and giving their hands in public welfare. Instead, they spent their time in vain pursuits. They just served their own purposes.
The Maharaja of Pratibandapuram tried to dodge what was already written in his fate. The chief clairvoyant had forecasted that the reason of his death would be a tiger. The King tried the best he could to believe the guess. His campaign for tiger hunting was very successful. All his tactics and wise strategies worked until he killed 99 tigers. Yet, the hundredth tiger became the cause of his death. The satire of fate brings a sudden end to the Maharaja. The hero who killed ninety-nine tigers couldn’t kill the only one that was left behind. The last tiger he thought to be dead survived in the end. The King’s bullet had missed its mark. The hundredth tiger, which became the cause of his death, was not a fierce animal of blood and flesh. It was a wooden tiger. One of the slivers of wood pierced his right hand and caused infection, leading to his demise.
