The eligibility criteria for BSF ASI is set under the following parameters:

BSF ASI Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India to be eligible for BSF ASI (Stenographer) Exam.
 

BSF ASI Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Candidates should be between 18 to 25 years of age to be eligible for BSF ASI Exam. There is relaxation in upper age limit provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The details of upper age relaxations are as follows:

Central Government employees including serving BSF personnel with 3-year continuous service	Up to the age of 40 years (45 years for SC/ST)
Divorced women, Widows, and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not re-married (UR)	Maximum age limit up to 35 years
Divorced women, Widows, and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not re-married (UR)	Maximum age limit up to 38 (35 + 3) years
Divorced women, Widows, and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not re-married (UR)	Maximum age limit up to 40 (35 + 5) years

BSF ASI Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification

Candidate should have passed Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) from a recognized Board or University equivalent.

BSF ASI Eligibility Criteria: Skill

• Shorthand @ 80 words per minute in English Or in Hindi in
  10 minutes.
• Transcription of dictation in Hindi in 65 minutes or in English in 50
  minutes on computer

Tattoo:

• Content: tattoos depicting religious symbols or figures and the name, as followed in the Indian Army are permitted
• Location: Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body like inner
  the aspect of the forearm, being a non-saluting limb or dorsum of the hands are permitted
• Size: Size must be less than 1/4 of the particular part (hand or elbow) of
  the body

 

BSF ASI Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for BSF ASI Exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned above.
