The CISF has posted an official advertisement for the roles of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial). Male and female candidates from all around India may apply for these 540 vacancies.

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Selection Process

CISF ASI Stenographer includes the following phases :
  • CBT Written Exam
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Steno/ Typing Test
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : CBT Written Exam

Candidates who pass the PST and Documentation will be invited to take the Written Examination in OMR/Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode. The written examination will consist of one objective type paper with 100 questions carrying 100 marks and lasting two hours :

There are 4 subject ( Each section comprises of 25 questions ): 
  1. General Intelligence - 25 Marks
  2. GK and General Awareness - 25 marks
  3. Elementary Mathematics - 25 marks
  4. English/ Hindi - 25 marks

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The Board of Officers will measure all candidates who report for recruitment for height, chest size, and weight. Candidates who meet the physical standards requirements will be permitted to participate in Documentation. Candidates who do not meet the physical standards will be rejected from the recruitment process and given rejection slips.
The measurements are as follows : 
  • Height : Male – 165 CMS, Female – 155 CMS
  • Chest : 77-82 CMS
  • Weight: Corresponding to height and age as per Medical Standards

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Steno/ Typing Test
Skill Test Norms on Computer – Dictation:-10 minutes @ 80 words per minute and Transcription time- 50 minutes in English or 65 minutes in Hindi on the computer.

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Document Verification

Candidates who pass the PST and CBT will be required to complete documentation. Before the Recruitment Board, candidates must present all original documents/certificates pertaining to age, education, caste, and sports achievement as specified in the official announcement in the prescribed manner.

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Skill Test

Following the written examination, applicants who are placed in merit (category wise) will take the Skill Test for Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable (Ministerial). This test will solely be for qualification purposes.

CISF ASI Stenographer 2022 : Medical Examination

Following the conclusion of the PST, Documentation, Written Examination, and Skill Test, All India and category-wise merit lists will be generated based on the written examination performance of candidates and the number of vacancies in each category. Only those candidates who are selected from the select list based on the available vacancies in each category will be invited to the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The candidates will be checked medically by the Medical Boards to determine their physical and medical fitness.
