Common University Entrance Test- Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2022 phase 1 exam concluded successfully today, July 20. The National Testing Agency (NTA) CUET exam is being conducted in 2 phases. The CUET phase 1 was held on July 15, 1 6, 19 and 20. While, the second phase of the undergraduate entrance exam will be held on August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. Confusion due to last-minute Center Change - Many Miss The Exam

Candidates who could not appear for the exam today due to a last-minute centre change yesterday will be given an opportunity to appear in the second phase in August. All affected candidates have been informed about this via phone and email, said a senior NTA official.

This year, the CUET UG exams have been divided into two phases — the first phase will take place on July 15, 1 6, 19 and 20 and the second phase will be held on August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. 

Couldn't appear for four papers because of centre change: Bhoomi

Bhoomi Khanna (18) a student of Rajkiya Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Laxmi Nagar was not able to appear for her 4 papers scheduled for Slot 1 because she only reached the DU centre at 9:35

Exam cancelled at two centres in Pathankot and Jalpaiguri due to weather and technical issues

Exam cancelled at two centres in Pathankot and Jalpaiguri because of weather and technical reasons. About 100 candidates were affected. They will get a chance to appear for the exam in August, says an NTA official.

Class 12 marks to act as tie-breaker for students with the same CUET score, says DU V-C

A Delhi University (DU) applicant’s performance in the Class 12 Board exams may, after all, prove to be useful for admission to undergraduate programmes this year. In the case of two students with the same CUET score choosing the same college and course as first preference, their class 12 Board marks will act as a tiebreaker for allotment of seat, vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh told PTI on Thursday.- Source The Indian Express

CUET Exam Analysis


CUET Exam has started from 15th July 2022. The first shift of the exam was conducted in different centres across the country. The questions is objective type and questions are asked in 13 languages i.e. Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, English, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.  The section below has the in-depth exam pattern and nuances related to the examination.

CUET Exam Analysis: Phase II

NTA started the Phase II of CUET from August 4. The difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate but there were several technical glitches. Many students could not complete the paper, especially General Test section because of server error. There were also some centres where the second shifts were cancelled on day 1 and day 2 of Phase II Exam. NTA will conducted exams in these centres on a later date.

Below is the revised exam pattern for CUET 2022:
  • The CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in online mode as Computer Based test-CBT.
  • CUET (UG) – 2022 consist of 4 sections i.e.
 
1. Section IA –  It has 13 Languages i.e. Odiya, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Gujarati)
2. Section IB- It has 20 Languages i.e. Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Sanskrit).
3. Section II- It has 27 Domain-Specific Subjects
4. Section III- It consists of a General test. It is an optional test for vocational/cross-stream/open eligibility test.
  • The CUET 2022 exam will have all multiple-choice questions.
  • Section IA & IB- The candidate has to choose a maximum of 3 languages from Section IA and Section IB taken together (Domain-specific subjects must be replaced by one of the languages chosen.)
  • Section Two provides 27 subjects and the candidate has to choose a maximum of 6 subjects from Section II and General Test under Section III. The candidate must refer to the requirements of his or her intended university.

Section I A Languages There are a total of 13 languages The candidate has to attempt 40 questions out of 50 questions in each language. Reading Comprehension (based on different sorts of passages–Factual, Literary, and Narrative), [Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary] will be used to assess language. Section I B Languages There are a total of 20 languages
Section II-Domain There is a total of 27 Domains specific subjects which are being offered under this Section. A candidate may choose a maximum of six (06) Domains desired by the applicable University The candidate has to attempt 40 questions out of 50.
 
  • Input text will be used for MCQ-based questions
  • Multiple-choice Questions based on NCERT Class 12th syllabus only
For each Domain-Specific Subject, there is 45 minutes.
Section III- General Test For any undergraduate program/programs provided by universities that require the use of a General Test for entrance. The candidate has to attempt 60 questions out of 75
  • Input text will be used for MCQ based questions
  • General mental Ability, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Quantitative Reasoning (Basic mathematical concepts like algebra/arithmetic/geometry/mensuration/tat taught till Grade 8), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.

CUET 2022 Marking Scheme:

Below we have discussed the CUET 2022 Marking Schemes for Different Courses as released by NTA:

1. B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science):
  • For B.Sc. courses the marking will be done on the basis of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology.
  • The candidate has to get a minimum of 30% marks in any one of the subjects.
2. B.A  (Bachelor of Arts):
  • For admission in B.A (Bachelor of Arts) candidate needs to be present in any one language of section 1 and any three languages of section 2.
  • For admission in B.A Economics Maths test is mandatory.
  • A merit list will be made on the basis of selected language, Maths, and marks obtained in any two subjects


Important Points about CUCET Exam Pattern:

1. Your choice of Languages/Subjects/General tests will depend on the requirements of the desired Universities for the desired course.
2. Candidate should select the Tests/Subjects in Slot 1 and Slot 2 as follows:
A. Slot 1: Up to 4 Subjects/Tests
Section IA and IB: 1 Language
Section II: 2 Domain-Specific Subjects
Section III: General test
B. Slot 2: Up to 5 Subjects/Tests
Section IA and IB: 1 Language
Section II: Maximum 4 Domain-Specific Subjects
                                  Or,
Section IA and IB: 2 Languages
Section II: Maximum 3 Domain-Specific Subjects.
3. The number of domain subjects selected by the candidate depends on the requirements of the desired University for the desired course.
4. The test other than the “Language” test offers 13 languages i.e. Bengali, Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, and Telugu.
5. Language test will be for assessing the skill/proficiency of the candidate in language which is selected by him/her.
6. Each question will be 5 marks. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark on each wrong answer.
7. CUET (UG) 2022 offers a bouquet of Subjects/Languages/General test which covers most of the languages/subjects offered by most of Universities.
