To celebrate the  charm and purity of the notion of motherhood and to honour them for all that they go through International Mother's Day is celebrated every year on the 2nd Sunday of the month of May . Therefore there is no fixed day to celebrate mother's Day and this year it falls on May 9th.

It is not only a celebration of motherhood , but also of the maternal bonds we share with our mothers and the influence a mother figure has on her family and society as a whole .Mothers deserve to be  celebrated everyday and not just on a particular day of the year .

Maya Angelou rightly said when she stated "To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow." A mother's love is one of the most selfless notions known to human kind . The influence a mother has in the upbringing of  her child and in the long run to the society is truly remarkable . As a mother strives to nurture and teach a child  she explicitly makes the world a much better place to live in because these children become the pillars of society eventually .

Mothers are the  timeless teachers in the classroom of life .They are the first teachers to their children and their greatest educators in the journey of life .

How is Mother's Day Celebrated ?

These days, Mother's Day is all about buying gifts , flowers, cakes  etc .Although within the years a lot of improvement has been done in terms of giving our mothers their due of respect and admiration for all the hard work and pain they go through for the sake of their children, but this isn't enough .

Like every other human being on Earth our mothers crave for love and a bit of appreciation for all that they do for us .
To bring a child to life a   mother goes through numerous  sleepless nights, uncomfortable mornings and excruciating birth pains. Therefore in return for all of these children can do their small part in giving back a portion of all the uncountable  things they receive from their mothers.

There are numerous ways to do this like listening to their opinions instead of just shutting them out , supporting them, considering their point of view and opinions , thanking them whenever and wherever necessary , By giving your mothers the credit they truly deserve ,by trying to spend more time with them , addressing them with love and various other things which we often buzz of as unimportant but are significant.

Origin and History Of Mother's Day :

Mother's Day was initially  celebrated by the Greeks and the Romans in ancient times wherein they  worshipped Goddess Rhea and Cybelle.

According to another popular belief - Mother's Day was first celebrated in the US. A woman named Anna Jarvis wanted a special day dedicated to mothers as   her mother  had expressed the same  desire. So after her mother's death Anna took the initiative  and held a memorial for her mother in 1908, three days after her death at St Andrew's Methodist Church in West Virginia.

So , Mother's Day started being   observed officially after former American president Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation in 1914 declaring the second Sunday in May as a national holiday.

Different Dates Of Mother's Day:

Mother's day is celebrated across the world on different day . While in India it's celebrated every year on the second Sunday of the month of May while  In some countries, the date adopted is one significant to the majority religion, such as Virgin Mary Day in Catholic countries. Other countries selected a date with historical significance. For example, Bolivia's Mother's Day is a fixed date, commemorating a battle in which women participated to defend their children
