NTA (National Testing Agency) has extende the last date of the CUET Application process till May 22, 2022. According to the recent tweet by UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, a total of  9,81,406 registrations and 7,39,027 fully filled application forms have been received for seeking admission to 72 universities that will commence admission for the 2022-23 academic session on the basis of CUET scores. The big numbers for CUET are coming from the state of Uttar Pradesh i.e. 74,527. It is followed by Delhi with 44,685 candidates then Bihar with 17,145 candidates.

Also, Haryana has recorded 15,000 registrations. Other states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal are also having high registrations. After April 28, 2022, CUET is converted into an admission test for Universities. It includes 8 deemed universities, 8 Deemed-to-be universities, and 12 private universities. Total Number of Applicants in Cuet Exam 2022

The officials in the education ministry familiar with the development said that the test has been adopted by at least 18 other universities and institutes, in addition to 45 key universities. 
In the first week of July, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the computer-based exam CUET for admission to undergraduate courses. The Centre declared last month that, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, it will administer CUET and make its score an obligatory criterion for all central universities. 
For state-run, private, and Deemed-to-be universities and institutes, however, the exam is optional. 
The exam registration process began on April 6 at 11:50 p.m. and will end on May 6.

Northern States Registration 

The state of Uttar Pradesh has the most registrations, followed by Delhi. According to the statistics, a total of 74,527 individuals from Uttar Pradesh applied for CUET 2022, followed by 44,685 applications from Delhi.
