Ultimately, it is going to require us AI researchers not just to understand consciousness, but also to create machines that possess consciousness. This is, in some ways, a continuation of the theory of mind, It is critical that self-aware AI is capable of learning from and becoming more intelligent from its experiences. It is aware of its own existence and its own internal states (and possibly emotions), it can form memories about its past, and it makes predictions. A real-world one would be self-aware, possess consciousness and memories, and can learn from the past and make predictions of probable future events -- and it would do those things itself, without any intervention or input from programmers. Self-aware, or conscious, machines basically means AIs on the level of human intelligence, capable of mimicking similar emotions, desires, or needs. 

What is Artificial Intelligence?


Artificial Intelligence can also be defined as developing computer systems capable of performing tasks requiring human-like intelligence, such as making decisions, detecting objects, solving difficult problems, etc. Artificial Narrow Intelligence refers to artificially intelligent systems which are able to carry out only specific tasks using human-like capabilities. Even the most reachable AIs, which employ machine learning and deep learning to train themselves, are classified as such. Nowadays, everything about AI, from basic development up to complex algorithms used to make decisions in machines, can be classified as an ANI. 

Types of Artificial Intelligence ( AI):


1) Reactive Machines:

Focusing on the ways that AI types will allow us to better understand how technologists might use AI efficiently in order to improve our lives in the future. In a nutshell, reactive machines are those types of Artificial Intelligence systems that do not have the ability to learn things and incorporate what they have learned into future actions. Reactive machines are an important advancement in the history of AI development, but these types of AI cannot operate outside the tasks for which they were originally designed. 

2) Limited Memory Machines:

These machines have intelligence that exists almost exclusively in the present moment. However, reactive machines replicate human minds' capacity for responding to different types of simulations. Limited Memory Machines are machines which, besides having the capabilities of pure Reactive machines, are able to learn from historical data in order to make decisions. Limited memory AI systems are capable of learning from prior experiences, and incorporating what Limited Memory AI systems have learned into making decisions going forward.
One of the more relevant examples of a Limited Memory AI System might be the fingerprint scanning machine. 
Every machine learning model requires constructing limited memory, but a model can be deployed as a reactive type of machine. 
Limited Memory, The second machine type that we are seeing is the high-level machines that have AI. IBM's computer that played the game of chess, beating the world chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov back in the late 90s, is the ultimate example of this kind. Deep Blue could recognize pieces on the board and knew the moves for every move. DeepMind Technologies has created the neutral Turing machine, allowing computers to emulate short-term memories in the human brain. We still do not understand enough about the human brain to create an artificial one nearly as smart. 

3) Theory of mind:

As we understand more about how minds function, and what makes us the people we are, researchers have begun developing artificial minds that operate similarly. Without a theory of mind, we would not be able to make these kinds of deductions. While we are likely still far away from creating machines that are fully conscious, we should direct our efforts on understanding memory, learning, and the capacity to make decisions based on past experiences. The field was founded on the premise that human intelligence can be described with such precision that machines could be made to emulate it. 

4) Artificial Intelligence awareness:

The full form of artificial intelligence, artificial intelligence, indicates a human role that involves bringing about in machines the ability to do the tasks given and to make the best decisions. Known as strong AI, AGI is the phase of the AI revolution in which machines will have the capability of thinking and making decisions just like we humans. AGI refers to an AI system's ability to perceive, understand, learn, and act just like humans. This kind of AI is still a theoretical concept, but soon, it may be capable of building up a number of skills and forming connections all by itself. Artificial intelligence covers the process of building intelligent machines and using them to perform various practical and feasible applications.
