What is CLAT?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance test organized by National Law Universities (NLUs) to provide admissions to law aspirants to 3 years and 5 years integrated LLB and LLM programs. The official notification of CLAT 2021 will be released on the official website of CLAT in the 3rd week of December 2020. Law aspirants who wish to for the CLAT 2021 exam will be able to apply online from 1st week of January 2021. How to Prepare for CLAT 2021?

Here is the CLAT 2021 subject-wise strategy for preparing the exam. Candidates can focus on these strategies and start their preparation.

CLAT English Including Comprehension:
English cannot be learned in a day. It requires everyday reading and practice. Simply reading doesn't help. Students need to focus on sentence formation and the meaning of a sentence or what the word wants to convey. English is equally important as other subjects because the examiner wants to assess your English skills as most of the laws are in English. Hence, proficiency in English is a must for a law student and a strong sense of grammar is also required to score better.

CLAT Quantitative Techniques:
This section is considered to be the easiest of all as the questions asked in this section is something that you have been taught in your 9th or 10th standard. Candidates need to Apply various 10th standard mathematical operations on such information, including from areas such as ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration and statistical estimation. Everyday problem solving will enhance your speed and mental calculation power.

CLAT Logical Reasoning:
The candidates need to have analytical thinking and in-depth understanding of the basic concepts to answer these questions. This section is to assess your ability to identify patterns and logical links. If you want to score good then you must be well versed with Alphabets and sequence. You need to develop problem-solving skills and enhance your thinking power. They must have a grip on both Analytical and Critical reasoning. Candidates need to do a lot of practice daily so that they speed up in identifying correct answers.

CLAT General Knowledge including Current Affairs:
This is the easiest yet most difficult as the focus of the questions has steadily been on current affairs. Candidates must read newspapers regularly so that he/she is updated with all the current events taking place in India and worldwide. Along with this the candidate can also ready a monthly current affairs magazine. If you haven’t started your preparation now it better to start it now and you can take an annual magazine which covers all the aspects and news. The questions are more from November to March but don’t miss April and May as there have been times when CLAT has put up questions on events that have occurred just two days before the exam.
