Option B. Since the loudness of the sound wave is determined by its amplitude, a loud sound has more amplitude and hence more energy. Energy is proportional to the square of its amplitude. As the sound wave travels through a medium, its energy decays. Therefore, a sound wave with higher energy will travel a longer distance.
