National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the JEE Main exam as well as declares the results and administers the counseling process. JEE Main is considered to be the preliminary stage. Students who clear this stage are provided admissions in 20 IIITs, 31 NITs, and 18 other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). It is essential for the candidates to clear the exam and score the top ranks. Only those who are in the top ranks are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

What is the full form of JEE?

The full form of JEE is the Join Entrance Examination.

Why is the JEE Main exam conducted?

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is  conducted for the admission of  engineering  in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), State Funded Technical Institutes (SFTIs), and Central Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Students give this examination after completing 12th class.

Who conducts the JEE Main exam?

The National Testing Agency has been given the responsibility for conducting JEE Main exam.  All exam related procedures are conducted by NTA authorities.

What are the new changes in JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch) eligibility criteria?

Candidates who want to apply for admission through JEE Main exam Paper II (B.Arch) should have scored atleast 50% marks separately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% aggregate marks in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) examination. This information has been notified by the  Council of Architecture to the NTA.

How many attempts are we allowed to give in JEE Main?

The total number of attempts is six times, as the JEE Main exam is held twice a year and the candidates originally have a maximum of three attempts to give JEE Main.

Do we need to give the exam twice or can we give once? which score will be considered If I give the exam twice?

The choice of giving the exam is on the candidate, whether he/she wants to give only one attempt or two is entirely up to them. But if they have attempted both the exams, the best off the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking in the merit list.

In which colleges/institutions can a student get an admission after passing JEE Main exam?

After passing, JEE Main Exam candidates can take admission in NITs, IIITs, SFTIs, and CFITs depending on their score.

What is the complete procedure for admission to IITs?

Admission in IITs takes place through JEE Advanced exam.But the candidates who qualify JEE Main exam can appear in the JEE Advanced.

What is the minimum percentage required in class 12th to appear for the JEE Main exam?

There is no minimum percentage required in 12th standard to apply for JEE Main 2020 bout the students need to have passed a minimum of five subjects. However, class 12th percentage is required for admission into different institutes after qualifying JEE Main exam.

What is the syllabus for JEE Mains?

What is the exam pattern of JEE Mains?

It is important to know the exam pattern by which the candidates can prepare accordingly.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2019 onwards has been granted the authority to design and develop the JEE Main syllabus as well as set the exam pattern. Since 2019, a few modifications have been made to the exam pattern for the consecutive years. NTA has yet again introduced some changes. They are as follows.

●     Three papers for JEE Main. Paper 1 for B. E/ B. Tech, Paper 2 for B.Arch, Paper 3 for B.Planning.

●     Paper 1 will now consist of 77 questions where 25 questions will be asked from each section. Earlier the paper had 90 questions in total.

●     Paper 2 is now only set for B.Arch courses. It will consist of 77 questions and the total marks allotted is 400.

●     Paper 3 will consist of 100 questions and the paper will be out of 400 marks.
