After the report of a question paper leak, Chief Minister Jai ram Thakur said that the Himanchal Pradesh Government has canceled the written exam for the post of Himanchal Police Constable. There was a total of 75,803 candidates who appeared in the exam at 81 centers across 11 districts for the recruitment of 1,700 constables on March 27, 2022.
The result for the same was declared on April 5, 2022. Moreover, among the total candidates, there were a total of 60,454 male candidates and 14,563 female candidates. Also, 696 male candidates appeared for the post of driver.

After the initial investigation, it appeared that the question paper was leaked, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. Hence, the government took the decision to cancel the exam. For the investigation a Special investigation team has been created led by deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Madhusudan and comprising superintendents of police Vimukt Ranjan, Khushal Chand Sharma, Rohit Malpani, and Virender Kalia, will probe the case.

The Himanchal Police Constable exam has been canceled for ensuring transparency. It will be conducted again at the end of this month. Also, the culprits will be punished who are involved in the paper leak either whether from outside or from the same state.

The culprits got 70 out of 80 marks, while their score in Class 10 was below 50%,” said Sharma. During the document verification, they were not able to give answers to simple GK questions during Document Verification. Also, they had admitted that they has seen the question papers before. They were paid Rs 6 Lakh and 8 Lakh to someone for providing them with solved paper.
