What Is Child Labor and Why Is It Important to End It?

When a child is employed before a legally defined age, it is referred to as child labour since it prevents them from receiving a formal education. Every nation in the world is attempting to stop child labour in any way possible. The full abolition of child labour is still a goal that needs to be accomplished.

Every nation has made laws against child labour, and those convicted in violation face jail or other forms of punishment as determined by the court of law. Under Article 24 of the Indian Constitution, which reads in part, "No child under the age of fourteen shall be employed to work in any factory or mine or employed in any hazardous employment," there are laws against child labour in India.Other constitutional provisions for the upliftment of children can be found in the Indian Constitution, such as Article 21 A's guarantee of the right to free and compulsory education for all children from the age of six to fourteen, and Article 39's directive to the State to focus in particular on "securing the health and strength of workers, men and women, and the tender age of children are not abused and that citizens are not forced by economic necessity."

There is also the International Labour Organization, which brings together government officials, employers, and employees from its 187 member states to establish guidelines, create regulations, and create programmes to advance fair working conditions for men and women everywhere.

Since 2021 has been designated as the International Year for the Elimination of Child Labor, it is imperative that we take immediate action to prevent any further children from being compelled to work because of their family circumstances or socioeconomic level. People from all over the world are attempting to use art to illustrate the problem of child labour. On numerous talk shows, debates, movies, documentaries, and tales about child labour. The issue is that after watching or listening to any of them, one's level of reflection is just fleeting. They all almost clearly demonstrate the issues with child labour.The time has come for action, not reflection. The idea that child labour should not only be spoken about but also put an end to is something that everyone should realise, regardless of how frequently it is discussed in public forums.
