Seating Arrangement Questions and Answers


Seating Arrangement is an important section of logical reasoning. Student is required to comprehend the question, apply logic to come at definite conclusion about sequence, direction and order of arrangement. Questions are based on seating sequence, direction that each member faces, circular arrangements and linear seating arrangements. To increase complexity of questions information is given in jumbled form, that must initially be arranged and then applied logically to simplify the question. Solution: (i) -From the given information, B sits third to the left of D. H sits second to the left of B and G sits third to the left of H. F is an immediate neighbour of D. There are two possibilities-

(ii)- A sits third to the left of the one who sits second to the left of F. E does not sits at corner. C sits immediate right of B. By using this condition case-2 will be eliminated. The final arrangement is-

Solution: (i) from the given conditions, only two persons sit between C and D who sits at an extreme end of the row. H sits third to the right of F and B sits second to the left of H. (ii) Both C and E are immediate neighbor. G is not an immediate neighbour of B. From these conditions case-2 and case-3 will be eliminated and in case-1 G is an immediate neighbor of D and A is an immediate neighbor of B. Solution: (i) From the given conditions, C sits third to the right of F who is facing inside the center. B sits second to the right of C. B sits third to the left of I. There are three possible cases-

Solution:
From the given conditions, Daksha sits second to the left of the one who likes Toyota car. Only one person sits between Daksha and Chaman. Chaman neither likes Toyota nor Renault car. There are two possible cases.

Daksha likes Maruti and sit at corner. Hence case-1 will be eliminated. Ali sits third to the right of the one who likes Maruti car. The one who likes Ford car face outside. So, it is clear that Chaman likes Ford car. The one who likes Renault car sits second to the right of the one who likes Hyundai car. There are two more possibility in case-2 i.e case-2(a) and Case 2 (b).

Benny sits second to the right of the one who likes Kia car. Here Case 2b is ruled out now. Eva sits third to the right of Fatima who does not like Kia car. From these conditions case-2(a) will be eliminated. Fatima is not immediate neighbor of the one who likes Hyundai car. and the final arrangement is-
