CUET Exam Pattern 

The CUET exam pattern is the most important thing a candidate should know about. With the help of the exam pattern, the candidate will be able to check the marking scheme and the structure of the examination. Below is the complete CUET Exam pattern:

Section I A Languages This section consists of 13 different languages There are a total of 50 questions and the candidate must attempt 40 questions To test the Language through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passage-Factual, Narrative, Literary (Literary aptitude and Vocabulary) There is a total of 45 minutes for each language
Section I B Languages This section has 20 languages apart from Section IA
Section II Domain There is a total of 27 Domains specific subjects under this section. Candidates can choose a maximum of 06 Domains as desired by applicable universities/Universities There are a total of 40 questions to be attempted out of 50
  • Input text can be used for MCQ Based Questions
  • MCQs based on NCERT Class 12th syllabus only
There is a total of 45 minutes for each Domain-Specific Subject.
Section III- General test For any such undergraduate programs offered by the university where a General Test is being used for admission. There are a total of 60 questions to attempt out of 75
  • Input text can be used for MCQ-based Questions.
  • General Mental ability, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning

How to Choose CUET Domain Subject?

There are a total of 9 tests a candidate can take in the following manner:
  • Maximum two languages from Section IA and Section IB together, maximum six Domain Subjects from Section II and General Tests from Section II. Or,
  • Maximum 3 languages from Section IA and section IB together, maximum 5 Domain Subjects from Section II and General Test from Section I.

Below are some important points that the candidate should keep in mind while selection g the CUET Domain Subject Selection:
  • When choosing Languages/domain-specific Subjects/and General Tests, candidates must refer to the requirements of their selected university, as choices must meet the university's standards.
  • Interdisciplinary topics exist in several domain-specific subjects. In those fields, there will be two sections, with Section A being required for everyone. Section B may have various Sub Sections from which an applicant may choose one or more, depending on the program/eligibility university's requirements.
  • Candidates must consult their selected university's requirements while choosing Languages, domain-specific Subjects, and General Tests, as their choices must meet the university's requirements.
