Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) has released the notification for 4476 vacancies. The candidates who wish to teach the higher secondary classes must make an application for the same before the 25 th of December. The candidates must be aware of the HPSC PGT Eligibility as released with the official notification. The candidature of the candidates will be cancelled if they do not meet the eligibility criteria. There are a number of parameters that define eligibility like - nationality, age limit, educational qualification etc.

HPSC PGT Eligibility- Nationality 

The following candidates can apply for the post:

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen
  • Candidates from all over India can apply for the HPSC PGT post with the other requirements fulfilled.

HPSC PGT Eligibility- Age Limit 


The age limit is an important criterion before making an application. Candidates who fall into a certain age group can apply for the opportunity. As per the official notification, candidates in the age group of 21 to 42 can make an application. There are relaxations in the age groups for certain reserved groups. The details are as follows:

HPSC PGT Eligibility- Educational Qualification 


There are two sets of educational qualification - The general qualification for all the candidates and the specific qualification as per the subject of the candidates. The details on educational qualifications are as follows:
 

 Common eligibility criteria that is applicable to each post.

  • The candidates must have Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the languages in Matriculation or Higher or must have 10+2/BA/MA with Hindi as one of the subjects.
  • They should also have qualified in the HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) or STET (School Teacher Eligibility Test).
  • The candidates must have passed a Master's (M.A. / M.Sc/ M.Com, etc) in the concerned discipline with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from a recognized university. Also note that for Computer Science, the candidates must have passed master with 55% marks.
  • The candidates must also have a consistently good academic record.

M.Com. with accounting/cost accounting/ Financial accounting as a major subject of study with at least 50% marks and B'Ed fromrecognized university. Holders of degree of M'Com' in Applied/Business Economics shall not be eligible

Computer Science

(M.Sc. Computer Science (Regular two year course) / MCA (Regular three year course;/ BE/B.Tech.Computer Science/ Computer Engg./ IT (Regular course) with 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university.

Fine Arts

M.A. Fine Arts with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

History

M.A. History with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Mathematics

M.A./ M.Sc Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics with Mathematics as one of the subjects Graduation level with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Music

M.A. Music with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Physical Education

M.A. Physical Education or M.P.Ed. with at least 50% marks and Bachelors of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Diploma in. Physical Education (D.P.Ed.) or its equivalent from recognised university

Political Science

M.A. Political Science with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Biology

M.Sc Zoology/ Botany/ Bio Sciences/ BioChemistry /Genetics/ MicroBiology/Plant Physiology/ Life Sciences/Bio Technology/ Molecular Bio with at least 50% marks provided that the applicant had studied Botany & Zoology at Graduation level and B.Ed from recognized university

Chemistry

M.Sc Chemistry or Bio Chemistry with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Economics

M.A. Economics/Applied Economics/ Business Economics with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

English

M.A. English with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Geography

M.A. Geography with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Hindi

M.A. Hindi with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Home Science

M.A. Home Science with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Physics

M.Sc Physics/ Applied Physics/ Nuclear Physics/ Electronic Physics with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Psychology

M.A. Psychology with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Sociology

M.A. Sociology with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

Urdu

M.A. Urdu with at least 50% marks and B.Ed from recognised university

 

HPSC PGT Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts

There is no limit on the number of attempts. Candidates can appear for HPSC PGT exam as many times as they like provided they satisfy the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.
