PCS J Salary: Judge Pay Scale after 7th Pay Commission

Since 1950, the salaries of both high court and supreme court justices have only increased four times. However, after the establishment of the 7th pay commission, the allowances for judges have been quadrupled.

PSC Judicial Services Salary: Civil Judge Salary Structure
 

The Second National Judicial Service Commission issued a revised pay for all judicial officers in the lower judiciary in February 2020, introducing salary pay that was three times the current salary. The pay of a judge, on the other hand, differs from state to state based on a variety of factors such as the state, educational qualification, and so on.

  • At an entry-level, the supreme court judge gets a salary of Rs. 28,000 whereas the Junior civil judge's salary will be Rs. 12,000 per month. 
  • The Senior Division Civil Judge draws a salary of Rs. 21,000 per month and the Super Time Scale judge will get a salary of Rs. 24,000 per month.

The High Court Judge has the authority to investigate all civil and criminal cases. A High Court Judge's base monthly remuneration is Rs. 80,000. A High Court Judge's basic salary is Rs. 26,000, while an experienced judge can earn up to Rs. 45,000, including grade pay and perks. The Senior Judge would be paid Rs. 80,000 per month, with all allowances and bonuses.
