UMANG App: How to Register, Login, Services & Benefits

Unified Mobile Application is also known as Umang App is a New-age Governance mobile application. This app is developed by the NeGD (National e-Governance) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) for driving mobile governance in India. This app provides access to the individuals to a range of central, state, and local government services by using this single platform. Indian citizens can avail themselves of different benefits like all the documents in one place, different services in one place, and also all the transactions. Also, it is scalable and secure as it supports authentication mechanisms like Adhaar-based.

How to Download UMANG App?

Below are the steps to download the Umang app for both Android and iPhone:

• You have to scan the QR Code given on the official website.
• Give a missed call on 97183-97183, a link will be sent to you, download the app using the link.
• Go to the UMANG website and then enter your contact number. You will get a link on the given number, Download the app using the link.
• Also, you may visit the Google Play Store (in the case of Android users) or iTunes App Store (in care of Apple users) and then type ‘UMANG app’ to download the app in your phone.

How to Register on UMANG App?

Below are the steps to register on the UMANG App:

• Launch the UMANG app and then click on the ‘Register’ option.
• The mobile number verification page will open on your screen. Now, enter your mobile number to generate the OTP to complete the registration process.
• Once, the OTP has been entered, you will be asked to create MPIN, and after the creation of MPIN the registration process will be completed and you can be able to see the UMANG APP home page.

How to Login UMANG App?

Below are the steps to log in to the UMANG App by using various methods:

• You may use the mobile number registered with M-PIN and UMANG App to log in.
• You may log in with the registered mobile number and OTP.
• If you have updated your social media details on the app then you can also log in using your Google+, Facebook, or Twitter credentials.

• With the help of the UMANG app, you will be able to access all the government services on one platform.
• The live services on the application are Digilocker, Aadhaar, Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS), etc.
• Through this app, the government aims to bring 162 government services.
• With the help of the UMANG app, Indian citizens will be able to apply for a new PAN (permanent account number), and can access the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) also the people looking for a job can register under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
• It caters to on-demand scalability and supports 13 Indian Languages.
• The Odisha State Government launched 9 online services of state transport via the UMANG App.

How to check EPF Balance on Umang App?

In order to check your EPF balance on the UMANG app, follow these steps-

• On the homepage of the application, click the EPF module.
• You will be forwarded to the UMANG EPFO login page as a result.
• To log in, enter the information requested, such as your UAN (Universal Account Number) and the OTP provided to your registered mobile number.
• Depending on your requirements, choose from the alternatives under Employee Centric Services, General Services, Employer Centric Services, Pensioner Services, and eKYC Services.
• You must click the "View Passbook" link on the UMANG EPF page as indicated below in order to view your EPF Passbook balance.
• As illustrated below, you will now be taken to the Passbook Account Detail screen on the app. This page displays the UAN you are using to log in and the PPF account information connected to the UAN you gave.
• To access the detailed EPF passbook, click on the specific PPF account number as indicated below:
• To view specific EPF Account transactions, select the Deposits or Withdrawals choices.

How to make EPF Withdrawal using UMANG App?

Once you have logged in to the EPF portal of the UMANG app, you can quickly raise an EPF withdrawal claim. Select the "Raise Claim" option as indicated below to withdraw EPF.

Applications for PF withdrawal (employee contribution only) and requests for final settlement using Form 19 can both be submitted via the UMANG EPFO module.

After the registration in the UMANG app with the help of a phone number in India and OTP/password, different services can be accessed using the different credentials for each service:

• For accessing the EPF module, you need to provide UAN along with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
• For accessing NPS, you need to provide PRAN along with the password/OTP on the registered mobile number.
• For accessing the Income Tax Payment through UMANG, you have to provide PAN and the key details like date of birth, etc.
