Personal Life :

Draupadi was born in the hamlet of Baidaposi in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on June 20, 1958. Biranchi Narayan Tudu is her father's name.
She is a member of the Santal tribe, a tribal ethnic group.

Shyam Charan Murmu was Murmu's husband. They have two sons and a daughter together. Personal traumas, including the deaths of her husband and two boys, have shaped Draupadi Murmu's life.

Political Career of Draupadi :

She was the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Commerce and Transport under the Bharatiya Janata Party and Biju Janata Dal coalition administration in Odisha from March 6, 2000 to August 6, 2002, and for Fisheries and Animal Resources Development from August 6, 2002 to May 16, 2004. In the years 2000 and 2004, she was an MLA representing the Rairangpur assembly seat in Odisha.

She is Jharkhand's first female governor. She is the first woman from Odisha and a tribal leader to be elected governor of an Indian state.

The presidential election will be place on July 18, with the results being announced on July 21. The deadline for submitting a nomination is June 29.
