On July 1, 2022, the MOU was officially signed in Jaipur in the presence of Shri Bhanwar Singh Bhati, the state's energy minister.
The agreement was signed by Shri Mohit Bhargava, Chief Executive Officer of NTPC REL, and Shri Bhaskar A. Sawant, Principal Secretary (Energy), Government of Rajasthan. The occasion was attended by T. Ravikanth, Chairman of RRECL, Anil Dhaka, MD of RRECL, Rajiv Gupta, CGM of NTPC REL, as well as other representatives from the Government of Rajasthan and NTPC REL.

The MOU's signing is another step toward NTPC's goal of adding renewable capacity. In less than two years, NTPC REL has acquired 4 GW of renewable energy capacity by participating in multiple bids at varying phases of execution. Additionally, NTPC REL has a Joint Venture Agreement with DVC to create RE Parks and Projects and is building a 4.75 GW UMREPP in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd:

The largest power utility in India, NTPC Limited, established NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPCREL) on October 7, 2020. NTPCREL was established with the intention of boosting the company's use of renewable energy and expanding its environmental impact domestically, abroad, and globally.

Under the UMREPP (Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park) initiative of the Government of India, NTPCREL is developing large-scale Solar, Wind, and Hybrid Projects around the nation in addition to the Gigawatt scale Renewable Energy Parks and Projects. In addition to this, projects for ESG and green hydrogen mobility are being undertaken.
