The Khar Road train station and the adjoining Bandra Terminus are connected by the Western Railway's (WR) longest skywalk, which has been opened to make it easier for passengers to access the platforms and board trains.
The skywalk is 4.4 meters wide and extends for 314 meters.
By disembarking at Khar station and via the south foot over the bridge, commuters would be able to travel directly to Bandra (T) thanks to the skywalk, according to Western Railway. Prior to the construction of this skywalk, travellers taking suburban trains had to disembark at Bandra or Khar Railway Station in order to walk to Bandra Terminus.
An estimated $14 crore was spent on the construction of the new skywalk. For the construction, about 510 MT of structural steel, 20 MT of reinforcement steel, and 240 cum of concrete were utilized. All of Bandra Terminus' foot overbridges will be connected by this skywalk.
