The Railway Recruitment Board has announced that the 2nd Stage CBT for Pay Level 4 and 6 posts would be held on the 9th and 10th of May 2022, depending on the weather. Each level of the 7th CPC, i.e. Levels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, will have its own 2nd Stage CBT. A uniform 2nd stage CBT will be used for all jobs at the same level of the 7th CPC. Exam Pattern for Level 4 & 6 Posts in RRB NTPC 2022 2nd Stage CBT Exam

Each of the 7th CPC levels, i.e. Levels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, will require a separate 2nd Stage CBT with graded difficulty levels. A uniform 2nd stage CBT will be used for all jobs at the same level as the 7th CPC. Candidates who are qualified for more than one level of the 7th CPC based on their educational qualifications must take a common 1st stage CBT and equivalent 2nd stage CBT for each level of the 7th CPC.

Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks earned in the 1st Stage CBT and the options for various postings exercised by them, taking into account the candidate's educational qualification, i.e. 10+2 or Graduate.


As per their performance in the 1st Stage CBT cum choice of jobs, the total number of applicants to be shortlisted shall be 20 times the number of community-wise openings of positions notified against the RRB. Railways, on the other hand, reserve the right to increase or lower this restriction in total or for any individual category(s) as needed to ensure that appropriate applicants are available for all notified positions. Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks earned in the 1st Stage CBT and the options for various postings exercised by them, taking into account the candidate's educational qualification, i.e. 10+2 or Graduate. There will be negative marking, with each incorrect answer deducting 1/3 of a mark. The above table shows the section-by-section distribution, however, there may be some differences in the real question papers. Shortlisting for Skill Tests such as Computer-based Aptitude Tests and Typing Skill Test will be up to 8 times the number of vacancies (may grow or decrease depending on Railway Administration requirements) based on the candidates' performance in the 2nd Stage CBT.

Final Selection for RRB NTPC 2022

Candidates equivalent to the number of vacancies will be summoned for Document Verification based on their merit and choices in the 2nd Stage CBT, as well as their performance in both the 2nd Stage CBT and the CBAT/TST (where applicable). Selected applicants' appointment is contingent on passing the Railway Administration's required Medical Fitness Test, final verification of educational and community certifications, and verification of the candidates' antecedents/character.
