Multiplication Table of 17
Learning the multiplication table of 17 is easy. Let us learn how easily and quickly we can generate the 17 times table.
Step 1. In the given table below, write 0 in the fourth column; write the numbers 1, 2, 3 in the third column; write 4, 5, 6 in the second column, and write the numbers 7, 8, 9 in the first column.
7 | 4 | 1 | 0 |
8 | 5 | 2 | |
9 | 6 | 3 |
Step 2. Now write the first 3 odd numbers in the first row at the tens place i.e., 1, 3, 5; write the first 3 even numbers in the second row at the tens place, i.e., 6, 8, 10; write the next three odd numbers in the third row at the tens place i.e., 11, 13, 15. Write the next odd number i.e., 17 in the fourth column at the tens place.
(odd number)17 | (odd number)34 | (odd number)51 | (odd number)170 |
(even number)68 | (even number)85 | (even number)102 | |
(odd number)119 | (odd number)136 | (odd number)153 |
Now, go through the 17 times table that is given below which we have just generated, and use it to complete multiplication and division quickly.

Tips for 17 Times Table
1. Let us use the 16 times table to memorize the 17 times table. Let us see how this is done.
- 16 × 1 = 16
- 16 × 2 = 32
- 16 × 3 = 48
- 16 × 4 = 64
- 16 × 5 = 80
2. To turn multiples of 16 into multiples of 17, we will add natural numbers from 1 to 10 to the multiples of 16. In this way, we can learn both the multiplication tables together, easily and quickly. For example,
- 16 × 1 = 16 + 1 = 17
- 16 × 2 = 32 + 2 = 34
- 16 × 3 = 48 + 3 = 51
- 16 × 4 = 64 + 4 = 68
- 16 × 5 = 80 + 5 = 85 . . . and so on.
3. Similarly, you can also refer to the 18 times table. We have added natural numbers above in the 16 times table to get the 17 times table. In the 18 times table, we subtract natural numbers from 1 to 10 to get the 17 times table. For example,
- 18 × 1 = 18 - 1 = 17
- 18 × 2 = 36 - 2 = 34
- 18 × 3 = 54 - 3 = 51 . . . and so on.

17 × 11 = 187 |
17 × 16 = 272 |
17 × 12 = 204 |
17 × 17 = 289 |
17 × 13 = 221 |
17 × 18 = 306 |
17 × 14 = 238 |
17 × 19 = 323 |
17 × 15 = 255 |
17 × 20 = 340 |
Table of 17 Worksheets
-
Example 1: Using the table of 17, find how many times should 17 be multiply to get 238?
Solution:
According to 17 times table, 17 × 14 = 238.
Hence, 14 times 17 is 238.
-
Example 2: Go through the table of 17 and solve: 17 times 8 times 9 and17 times 7 minus 5
Solution:
a) First, we will write 17 times 8 times 9 mathematically.
Using 17 times table: 17 times 8 times 9 = 17 × 8 × 9 = 1224.
Hence, 17 times 8 times 9 is 1224.
b) First, we will write 17 times 7 minus 5 mathematically.
Using table of 17: 17 times 7 minus 5 = 17 × 7 - 5 = 119 - 5 = 114
Hence, 17 times 7 minus 5 is 114.
