Staff Services Commission released notification for 9,018 vacancies for Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff is various ministries in Central Government. The exam is more commonly known as SSC MTS Exam. The notification for the exam was released on 05-Feb-2021, as per the latest updates the exam is scheduled to be held from 01-Oct-2021 to 20-Oct-2021. Earlier the exams was scheduled for the month of July but keeping the second wave of COVID in mind the examination was postponed. 

What is SSC MTS Examination?

SSC MTS exam is conducted to recruit Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff in central government. The MTS posts come under Group B and Group C non ministerial and non-gazette posts. The candidates so recruited work in various ministries and departments of                Government of India. The posts available throng the exam are:

SSC MTS Exam Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the exam is mentioned in the official notification. Candidates must ensure they meet all the criteria before they apply for the exam. The SSC MTS Exam Eligibility criteria is as follows:





Age Limit

Should be aged between 18 and 27 years as on August 1, 2020

Educational Qualification

Must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board. Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class 10) are not eligible for the exam.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern

There are two stages in this exam. The examination consist of a Computer Based Examination (Paper-I) and a Descriptive Paper (Paper-II).


SSC MTS Computer Based Test Exam Pattern 2021

The first phase of the SSC MTS exam is the online exam. Where candidates will have to secure marks more than a certain cutoff, in order to be eligible for other phases of the exam.

  1. Questions in Stage 1 are objective type
  2. Each question carries 1 mark.
  3. Stipulated time for completion of stage one is 90 Minutes
  4. SSC MTS Stage one is a bilingual exam, conducted in Hindi and English.

SSC MTS Descriptive Paper

Only those candidates who are able to clear the cut off of paper 1 will appear for this stage. In this paper the descriptive skills of candidates are tested. Candidates can choose to appear in any language contained in the 8 th Schedule of the constitution. The pattern of the exam is as follows:

SSC MTS Exam Selection Process 2021

SSC MTS selection process starts with the release of notification. The official SSC MTS notification contains information about the number of vacancies, exam dates, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, and other important information. This time it was released on 05.02.2021.

SSC MTS Exam Application

Interested candidates who meet all the eligibility criteria are required to apply online for the examination. The application process is open for a specific time.  The application fee for all candidates is Rs 100 and women/SC/ST/ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

SSC MTS Admit Card

Admit card for SSC MTS exam is released a month or so before the Stage one exam.  Candidates who are considered eligible by SSC are given admit card for the 1 ST stage of examination. The admit cards are available online and can be downloaded from the official website of SSC.

SSC MTS Computer Based Test

All the candidates with valid admit cards can appear for this Stage. This is a computer-based exam, where 4 sections are tested for 100 marks in total. The candidates who are successful in this stage are called for the 2 nd Stage i.e – Descriptive Paper.

SSC MTS Descriptive Test

This is the final stage of examination. The total marks allotted to this stage are 50. Candidates have to write an essay in any of the desired language.

SSC MTS Final Result

The final result is based on the overall performance in both the stages. Generally the final result is released in the official web site of SSC. The final result is in form of a merit list and the candidates can check there score by login in to the SSC website.
