 Women are currently inducted as officers into the following six branches of the Navy: ATC, Observer, Law, Logistics, Education, and Naval Architecture. We have decided to highlight the most significant information on women's military service.

Women were only admitted to the Armed Forces Medical Corps until 1992. The Navy began inducting women as Short Service Commissioned Officers in specific branches of the Navy in July 1992. Among the Indian Armed Forces, the Indian Navy is a well-balanced force that has always put its best foot forward to improve the role of women in the Navy. Women are currently inducted as officers into the following six branches of the Navy: ATC, Observer, Law, Logistics, Education, and Naval Architecture. In addition, the government has approved a Permanent Commission (PC) for women in the Education, Law, and Naval Architecture branches upon completion of their SSC tenure, based on merit and vacancy. Naval Architecture

Naval architecture is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of maritime boats and buildings. It is possible to apply for it through UES or according to the most recent announcement.
  1. Eligibility: An engineering graduate between the ages of 1912 and 25 is eligible to apply.
  2. Educational Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of 60% in their BE/B. A technical degree in any of the following fields: Mechanical, civil, aeronautical, metallurgical, and naval architecture are all branches of engineering.

Observer

The Indian Navy need observers who will serve as airborne maritime warfare coordinators. The observer officer uses cutting-edge technology such as sonics, radars, sonars, and communication devices. As an airborne technician, you would fly onboard Indian Navy naval aircraft.
  1. Eligibility: An engineering graduate between the ages of 19 and 24 is eligible to apply.
  2. Educational Requirements: BE/B.Tech degree in any area with Physics and Math in 12th standard required.

Education

  1. Eligibility: Candidate aged between 21 – 25 is eligible to apply with the following educational qualifications.
  2. Educational Requirements: 
  • BE/B.Tech degree in any area with Physics and Math in 12th standard required.
  • A second-class Master's degree in Physics or Mathematics from a recognised university. Candidates with a Master's degree in Physics should have studied Mathematics at the subsidiary level at the degree level, and those with a Master's degree in Mathematics should have studied Physics at the subsidiary level at the degree level.
  • A mechanical, electrical, or computer science/technology engineering degree.
  • A second-class Master's degree in computer application or computer science from a recognised university. At the graduate level, the candidate should have studied either physics or mathematics.
  • A postgraduate degree in Humanities (Economics/History/Political Science) from a recognised university. 

Logistics /Works

  1. Eligibility: Candidates aged between 19½-25 with any of the following educational qualifications.
  2. Educational Qualification:
For Logistics Cadre
  • BE/B Tech in any discipline with 1st class
  • MBA with 1st class
  • B Sc/B Com/B Sc(IT) with 1st class and PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain Mgt/Material Mgt
  • MCA/M Sc(IT) with 1st class
For Works
  • BE/B Tech(Civil)/B Architect

For Catering
  • M Sc(HM)/MBA(HM)/B Sc or BA with 1st class and PG Diploma in HM

Law

  1. Eligibility: Candidates aged between 22-27 are eligible to apply.
  2. Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess a degree in Law qualifying them for enrolment as advocates under the Advocates Act, 1961. 

ATC

  1. Eligibility: Candidates aged between 19½-25 are eligible to apply.
  2. Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech degree in any discipline with Physics & Maths in 12th standard.

NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year for an entry into Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

The salary for the posts will be between Rs 56,100 and Rs 1,10,700.
