IAS vs IPS Salary Structure
Following the 7th pay commission's recommendation, the salaries of both IPS and IAS officers fell within the same range. IAS and IPS both start with a basic pay of Rs. 56,100. Travel Allowance (TA) and House Rent Allowance are also included (HRA). Both parties' salaries are increased based on performance, promotions, experience, and other factors. IAS officers receive their highest salary of Rs 2,25,000 if they have attained the status of Cabinet Secretary. The pay for IPS officers ranges from Rs 56,100 to Rs 2,25,000.
