What is the Significance of the programme?
The statement comes at a time when increased Chinese activities along India's Himalayan border, notably the installation of dual-use infrastructure, has alarmed government, security, and strategic circles. Since 2017, China has been engaged in large-scale border construction with India, constructing hundreds of border communities in Tibet to bolster their presence along the border.
