Good Friday is a significant Christian festival that is observed with great modesty and respect by Christians all over the world. The day the Son of God was crucified and buried is commemorated. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was crucified on Good Friday and rose three days later, on Easter Sunday.

It occurs on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, as part of the Paschal Triduum, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday, and Easter Friday are all variations of Good Friday.

On Good Friday, the word "good" means pious or holy. Good Friday, on the other hand, is a proclaimed public holiday in many parts of the world.

The date varies from year to year according to the Gregorian calendar.

On this day, Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross and hung there for the rest of his life. As a result, Christians wear black clothing on this day to express their sorrow and sadness.
Both of them, though, have one thing in common: they all contain prayers. On this day, some people fast or abstain from food. At the church, there is a mass, and many people make it a point to pray at 3:00 p.m., as it is believed that Jesus died on this day at this time.

One of the most important icons of Good Friday is the crucifix or cross, which represents how Jesus died. Other Good Friday symbols include black cloth used to cover the cross, sculptures, and statues to represent mourning.

Christians in Jerusalem follow in Jesus' footsteps and walk the same route that leads to the crucifixion spot. Many participants wear crosses on their backs to ritually bear the same weight as Jesus.
