The responsibilities of RRB JE are as follows:

• The candidates selected in the RRB JE post have to work as supervisors (Inspector of work) in the department of civil engineering. 

• They construct the railway buildings and water supply of those buildings.

• They take the charge of periodical and accounting verification of tools and stores.

• They ensure the railway tracks are well maintained for the safe, fast, and smooth operation of trains.

• They are responsible for the maintenance of bridges, workshops, and construction in the railway division. 

• They prepare the work estimation, drawing of work that needs to be put for the readiness of platforms.
