SSB Constable eligibility criteria is a must for candidates applying for SSB Constable Recruitment Exam to know. Candidates should ensure that they know the eligibility criteria in detail and also fulfill it. Those candidates who do not satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be considered for the post. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has recently released the notification for the recruitment of Constable (GD) with a total of 1522 vacancies for the same. The Selection process is mainly divided in three stages: Physical test, Written Test and Medical Test. Physical test is held in two stages: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates aspiring for the post should know the overall selection process as the recruitment is divided into various stages. Firstly, visit the official website for the online form filling and required fees have to be paid using a valid source. Admit will be generated for each candidate and respective centres are allotted to candidates. A candidate must be 10th passed and must be between 18-23 years of age in order to appear for the examination.

SSB Constable Selection Process 2022 Stages

The selection process is mainly divided into three stages which are as follows :

  • Stage 1 : Physical Test (PST & PET)
  • Stage 2 : Written Test
  • Stage 3 : Medical Test

Before getting on with main stages, candidates have to report to the respective centres which are allotted to them on their admit card. After reporting they have to take part in Knockout race which are conducted for both men and women. For men, a 5 kms race is conducted with a time limit of 24 mins and for women, a 1.6 kms race is conducted with a time limit of 8.30 mins. To be eligible for this exam a candidate must be 10th passed and their testimonial should be verified after the knockout race. Candidates qualifying this stage will be eligible for the Physical test. 
 

SSB Constable Selection Process 2022 - Physical Test (PST and PET)

Eligible candidates after screening of testimonials has to go through Physical Test which is again divided into two parts which are as follows:

Physical Standard Test (PST) : In this test, measurements of Height, Chest and Weights are taken before progressing to the next physical test.

Proportionate to height and age according to medical standard

Males : 80 cms (Unexpanded)  Minimum expansion required : 5 cms

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) : After PST, PET is conducted in which a long jump and high jump event is organised and candidates have to qualify a certain limit in order to be eligible for the next round. Three chances are provided to each candidate.

SSB Constable Selection Process 2022 - Written Test

After clearing the physical test, a written test is conducted to filter in the required candidates. The test consists of 100 questions with maximum marks of 100. No negative marking is there in the exam. The overall sections for the written test are as follows :

SSB Constable Selection Process 2022- Medical Examination

After the declaration of the written results, qualified candidates have to go through a rigorous medical test which is conducted to eliminate any unfit candidate for the post. If any candidate is found unfit in the porous, he/she can file an appeal under 15 days of rejection by the medical team. Those candidates can again appear for medical checkup by the appeal panel. This is the final stage of recruitment, after this the formality of final on boarding is done.

SSB Constable Documentation and Skill test

After completion of the written examination, a call list of candidates upto 20 times the number of the vacancies (category wise) will be prepared. They will then be put through the documentation process before they appear in the skill test. 

In the documentation round all the original documents as claimed by the candidate during filling of the online application will be checked properly and duly attested photocopies of the same will be sought from the candidates. If any candidate fails to produce his/her original documents and photocopies of self attested documents, their candidature for the post will be cancelled and the candidate shall be responsible for cancellation of his/her candidature. 

In this process some candidates though declared qualified in written examination but do not find place in the list prepared for documentation and skill test will not be called for documentation and skill test. No appeal regarding this will be entertained by SSB at a later stage.

NOTE:- Candidates declared qualified in PET, PST, Written Examination, Documentation and Skill Test will have no surety to be called for Detailed Medical Examination.

SSB Constable Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

After completion of skill test candidates numbering upto 3 times the vacancies (category wise) will be shortlisted and called for Documentation and Detailed Medical Examination. In this process some candidates though declared qualified in skill test but do not find place in the call list prepared for Documentation and Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will not be called. Being declared FIT in Detailed Medical Examination will in no way give any legal claim or right to any candidate for final appointment in Government service, as the appointment will be strictly as per merit.

SSB Constable Review Medical Examination

If a candidate is declared unfit in the Detailed Medical Examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Chairman. If the rejected candidate is not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, he can appeal for Review Medical Examination within 15 days from the date of issue of communication. The appeal, should necessarily contain the following: 

  • Review Medical Examination fee of Rs.25/- (Rupees Twenty Five only) non refundable, is payable in favour of concerned authority and mode of payment to be intimidated by Chairman Recruitment Board 
  • Appeal Forms issued by the Detailed Medical Examination Board declaring the candidate as Unfit
  • One self addressed envelope with Rs.25/-(Rupees twenty five only) postage stamp duly affixed on it. 
  • Fitness certificate other than Form-3 (provided by the Chairman of Recruitment Board to the Candidate) will not be considered for Review Medical Examination and appeal will be rejected straightway.
