At all levels, from Junior Scale to HAG+, the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) is unifying eight current services of Indian Railways (Higher Administrative Grade). Only officials of the IRMS (comprising eight services) will be eligible to serve as Functional Members and Chairman/CEO of the Railway Board, according to the cabinet note authorized. The Government will decide on the number of Independent members. They will serve on the Board as non-executive members and will attend meetings.
