Staff Selection Commission has revised the SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2022 with the release of official notification on the 27th of October 2022. After massive changes in the exam pattern of the SSC CGL Examination.
The commission has changed the SSC GD Exam Pattern.  The candidates who are applying for the examination must be aware of the latest changes and make changes in the preparation strategy as per the need. Changes In The SSC GD Exam


 SSC has announced 24369 vacancies for the SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2022. The online application process is ongoing and the last date of application is 30th November 2022.  The changes in the examination pattern will have a huge impact on the examination and the way candidates prepare for the examination. As per the latest changes the exam pattern will consist of following stages:
  1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST)
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  4. Medical Test
  The Changes in the SSC GD Exam pattern have been made in CBT. The comparative analysis of the changed pattern along with the latest exam pattern is as follows:

Changes In The SSC GD Exam- Number of Questions Asked  And Total Marks 

  1. The changes are as follows in the number of questions and section-wise questions. 
  2. The section-wise questions have been reduced to 20 from 25 questions earlier.
  3. The total number of questions has been reduced from 100 to 80.
  4. There is a change in the weightage of each question.
  5. Each question is now allotted 2 marks as compared to one mark earlier.
  6. Hence the total marks in the examination have come increased to 160 

Changes In The SSC GD Exam- Negative Marking 

There has always been an element of negative making in the examination. The weightage of the negative marking remains the same - 1\4 th of marks are reduced for each wrong answer. But since the weightage of each question has increased to 2 forms 1 mark. The negative marking has increased to 0.5 marks as compared to .25 marks in the past.

Changes In The SSC GD Exam- Time Allotted in The Examination 



Along with marks and the number of questions asked, the commission has altered the time allotted for the examination. The total time allotted has been reduced to 1 hour as compared to 90 minutes earlier. The change is in line with the reduction in the total number of questions asked, the effective time to solve each question remains the same. 

The candidates must make all the necessary changes in the strategy and approach of the examination in order to give their best in the examination. The new exam pattern and syllabus for the examination are as mentioned below.

SSC GD New Exam Pattern 


As per the SSC GD Constable Exam pattern, the Tier 1 exam.

 The exam is held in form of sections with 80 questions in total.

 The Time duration for the SSC GD Constable Tier I exam is 60 minutes.

 This exam is conducted in – English and Hindi only.

 There is a 0.5 negative marking for every incorrect answer in the SSC GD online test.

The marking scheme along with the detailed exam pattern is as follows:

SSC GD Syllabus 



The exam comprises of one stage of written examination, where questions are asked from the sections like General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, English/ Hindi. The detailed SSC GD Syllabus is mentioned below:
 
General Intelligence and Reasoning Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
General Knowledge and General Awareness Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc. These Questions will be
Elementary Mathematics This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
English/Hindi Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested
