SSC JHT Eligibility: Nationality

A candidate must be:

• A citizen of India
• A subject of Nepal, or Bhutan
• A refugee of Tibet (China) who came to India before January 1, 1962, with an intention of settling permanently in India.
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from either/or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries including Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with an intention of settling permanently in India.

Candidates other than Indian citizens have to produce a certificate of eligibility authorized by the Government of India to be able to appear for the exam.

SSC JHT Eligibility: Age Limit

Applicants applying for the SSC JHT 2022 exam must not have crossed 30 years as per the cutoff date prescribed by the SSC. Reserved category applicants are given relaxation in the upper age limit. To know about the SSC JHT age relaxation for different categories check the table below.

Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof (SC/ ST).	8 years
Central Government Civilian Employees: Who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date for receipt of online applications.	Upto 40 years of age
Central Government Civilian Employees: Who have rendered not less than 3 years regular and continuous service as on closing date for receipt of online applications (SC/ ST).	Upto 45 years of age
Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried.	Upto 35 years of age
Widows/ Divorced Women/ Women judicially separated and who are not remarried (SC/ ST).	Upto 40 years of age

 

SSC JHT Eligibility - Educational Qualification

Academic qualification is an important factor in determining the eligibility of candidates for the SSC JHT 2022. In general, any candidate with a master's degree in Hindi or English can apply for the SSC JHT exam. Mostly the educational qualification required for all the JHT posts is the same leaving a side with a few minor differences. • Master’s degree in English with Hindi or vice versa as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level

• Or master’s degree in any subject, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or medium of examination

• Or master’s degree in any subject, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or with one as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject.

SSC JHT Eligibility: Number of Attempts

There is no upper limit on the number of attempts for the SSC JHT Exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as often as they want, provided they satisfy the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.
