The political science Syllabus for Class 6 includes four units. These are further divided into topics and subtopics. Political science or Civics is a crucial subject of Social Science discipline that talks about government institutions, their working, and the people who work there. Moreover, it also explains the types of government and their working.

	Unit 2: Government	Chapter 2: What is Government Chapter 3: Key Elements of a Democratic Government	To help students- Gain an intellect of why the government is necessary. Be familiar with the requirement for the universal adult franchise. Realize the need to make decisions with group sanction. Recognize major components that persuade the working of democracy.
	Unit 3: Local Government	Chapter 4: Panchayati Raj Chapter 5: Rural Administration Chapter 6: Urban Administration	To help students- Realize the functions of local level of government Be aware of the functions of the Panchayati raj and realize its significance. Gain an intellect of who does what work within the local government. Appreciate how a variety of levels of government at the local level is interrelated. Recognize the workings concerned with the local administration’s provision of water.
	Unit 4: Making a Living	Chapter 7: Rural Livelihoods Chapter 8: Urban Livelihoods	To help students- Comprehend circumstances that emphasize and influence life approaches of groups of people. Recognize that these situations and chances for making a living are not evenly accessible to all.
