CST: Central Sale Tax.

It is a type of indirect tax that is levied only on goods sold from one state to another and is not taxed on intrastate sales or imports and exports of sales. Complies with the Central State Tax Act of 1956, Central Sales Tax (CST) is levied on registered dealers when selling goods outside the state in which they are incorporated. Example: ' Example: 'A' in Karnataka sells and delivers goods to 'B' in Kerala. CST is paid in the state where the goods are sold and the carriage commenced. Taxes imposed are withheld by the state where the tax is imposed. The law includes a definition of interstate trade, including the circumstances under which the CST applies and penalties and restrictions on trade. CST exclusion

CST may also be excluded in some locations and circumstances. Taxes may be excluded if a state returns goods or services to another state within up to 180 days.
